The Concordia Foundation has received a $5000 grant for “Expanding Access to Arts Funding in WNY” from the Cullen Foundation. This program is a collaboration between the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and the Cullen Foundation. The grant will be used for an event to be held in 2023 honoring choreographer Glenn Brooks who is interred at Concordia, and who taught and performed at the Alvin Ailey Dance troupe in New York City. In 1969 he appeared in the production of “La Strada” with Bernadette Peters. Other theater credits are “Look To The Lillies” (1970), with Shirley Booth and Al Freeman Jr. and “Raisin” (1973) with Dancer/Actress Deborah Allen. More details will be provided here and on our Facebook page as we get closer to the event date.
It’s with deep gratitude that we thank the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and the Cullen Foundation for providing the funding for this event.

Concordia volunteers Judy Felski, Dawn Schriver and Brenda Brown accept the award from the Cullen Foundation.
