The Saturday Community Volunteer work days to maintain the grounds in and around Concordia will be held on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month from 9:30am-12:30pm. Weather cancellations will be posted on our Facebook page Friends of Concordia Cemetery.

April 22 Saturday, 10am-1pm: Celebrate EARTH DAY with WNY Trash Mob and NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK with us at Historic Concordia! We will also be planting an Autumn Glory maple tree today!!

April 26: 9:30-1:30: Sacred Heart Academy Work Day: grounds cleanup

April 29 Saturday: Celebrate ARBOR DAY and NATIONAL HISTORIC MARKER DAY with us and help us plant and care for our beautiful trees as well as other nearby historic markers!

May 6: Palatines to America/German Genealogy Meeting & Tour at Concordia

May 20: 9:30-11 a.m.: Saint John Kanty Boy Scout Troop 107 will place flags to honor Veterans interred at Historic Concordia.

May 27, 11am: Memorial Day Commemoration to honor Veterans. With the Johnetta R. Cole AmVets Post 24. Coffee Hour Reception following the service.

June 10, Saturday, 1pm: Come join us for this wonderful free community event to start the Buffalo Juneteenth Celebration with “The Life and Legacy of Glenn Brooks” and “A Community Remembrance of the Victims of 5/14 Memorial Service.”  See our website for more information: and follow us on Facebook

June 21, Wednesday, 9:30am-4pm: Come join us as the United Way of Erie County has its DAY OF CARING! Help us care for our 15 acre sacred site that holds our WNY heritage and get your exercise in for the day! A pizza lunch with beverages will be provided.

June 24, 1:30pm: The Steuben Society of New York State’s 10th Anniversary Celebration Tour and Reception at Concordia

July 15, Saturday, 11am: Family History Day at Concordia. Come and meet our Volunteer Genealogists with your family research questions and enjoy “The Art of Iconology at Historic Concordia Cemetery,” a tour by Peter Filim at 11:30 am.

July 22 & 23 Buffalo’s East Side Garden Walk, Historic Concordia Cemetery will be one of the stops on this free, self-guided walk that encourages community revitalization and the beautification of the East Side one neighbor at a time. Visitors will meet its gracious gardeners, experience its historic neighborhoods and wide-ranging architecture. Walk, Drive or Bike it to take in all the sights!

August 19, 10am: The Goats are Back at Historic Concordia! Bring the family and stroll through Buffalo & Erie County history! Learn more about this historic and sacred place in Buffalo. Historic displays and researchers will be available.

September 16, Saturday, 1pm: Come join us as we present a “Murder and Madness at Concordia” tour. In our research we have uncovered many stories from the past 164 years that will be surprising to all. Come hear their stories.

October 21, 10am: Concordia Cemetery Inc. Annual Lot Owners Meeting and Concordia Foundation Inc. Annual Meeting. Come and learn more about us and join our family of Volunteers! Coffee/tea/refreshments served. This is also a Community Work Day, as well as our Volunteer Appreciation Barbecue Luncheon at 1pm.

November 11, 11am: Remember them all & thank them all. Veterans Day Commemoration with Veterans Reception to follow in the Landmark Farmhouse.
