Our Wednesday and Saturday Community Volunteer work days to maintain the grounds in and around Concordia will also be posted on our Facebook page. Anticipated starting date is Wednesday, May 29, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and will run through September. Come help us care for this sacred 15-acre site that holds our WNY Heritage and get your exercise in for the day! Snacks and beverages always available

     August 24 Saturday – 12:30 pm. At the Buffalo Library Downtown branch, German-Americans and WWI- How the War Affected the People and Their Culture presentation by Concordia researcher Bonnie Fleischauer. Free.

·         Labor Day Weekend: The Federation of German American Societies of WNY will hold a Germanfest at Cheektowaga Town Park on Friday, Aug. 30th6pm-10pm and Saturday, Aug. 31st 12pm-9pm. Concordia will have a German cultural table at the event and volunteers will assist at this culturalevent for the WNY community. Come and join us!

·         September 28 Saturday – 10am:  Annual Lot Owners Meeting andConcordia Foundation, Inc. Annual Meeting.  Attend and vote to help decide on issues that affect the cemetery and its future. There will also be a basket raffle.

·         September 28 Saturday – noon – Vanished Cemeteries of WNY event. What happened to them and where did the interred go?

·         October 19 Saturday – begins 10 am: Volunteer Appreciation Day –This is one of our last community Work Days, so join us for a little work and a great lunch with volunteer teammates.

·         November 11at 11am: Veteran’s Day Commemoration at Concordia & Veteran’s Reception following in the Landmark Farmhouse. We have about 500 veterans interred on our historic grounds. Help us remember and honor them!
